PolicyLink is pleased to present the fourth event of our fifth annual speaker series for legislative staff.

In recent years, immigrant issues have been the focus of US dog whistle politics. From the “Muslim” ban to the recently-ended child separation policy, it’s clear that the Trump Administration is using immigration policy to perpetuate xenophobia and create a wedge to divide communities. While the national policies create real challenges for immigrants everywhere, they are not the only problems immigrants face.  Poverty, fear of social stigma, and a lack of access to the public safety net are just a few of the obstacles immigrant communities must overcome.  In this briefing, grassroots advocates and state policy experts will discuss actions that California can take to create the conditions necessary for immigrants to live safe, healthy, and economically secure lives.

LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.  Please RSVP to Lizette@ideatecal.com (space is limited).
