Latino Caucus to Hold Los Angeles Community Celebration with Gov. Brown in Recognition of 2013 Legislative Successes

LOS ANGELES – Members of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, including Chair Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Huntington Park/Long Beach) and Senate President Pro Tempore-elect Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) will host a Los Angeles community celebration in recognition of 2013 legislative successes and celebrate the leadership of Governor Jerry Brown for signing milestone pieces of legislation positively impacting California’s Latino community.

The event will also mark Senator De León’s first district appearance since his election as Senate President pro Tempore.

What: A community celebration with Governor Jerry Brown, members of the Latino Legislative Caucus and Southern California families impacted by recently signed legislation including the bill allowing undocumented immigrants access to driver’s licenses, the TRUST Act, the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and an increase of the minimum wage.

Who: Governor Jerry Brown, California Latino Legislative Caucus Chair Senator Ricardo Lara, Senate President pro Tempore-elect Kevin de León, members of the Latino Caucus, immigrant communities, domestic workers and other community members impacted by recently signed legislation.
