Beatriz Acevedo (Achievement in Technology & Media) is the President and founding partner of mitú, the leading digital media company bringing a Latino perspective to mainstream media. Her unique approach to both traditional and digital content creation has earned her three Emmy Awards, an MTV Award, and two Streamy Awards.

Sylvia Acevedo (Achievement in Health & Science) is a longtime advocate for underserved communities, including girls’ and women’s causes. She is currently the interim CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA, a rocket scientist, technology executive, and a national advocate for STEM Education.

Dr. Joseph I. Castro (Achievement in Education) is the eighth President of CSU, Fresno. He is a widely respected leader in public higher education throughout California and the nation, and whose programs at CSU Fresno have increased college-going rates for Latinos and nearly every student demographic in the Fresno region.

Father Miguel Ceja (Achievement in Human Rights) is the Pastor at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Riverside. He founded a social justice group, Raíces de Justicia (Roots of Justice), to encourage community members to become active on various local and state issues.

Jonas Corona (Dynamic Youth Award) is a 13 year old from Long Beach, who started his own charitable organization, Love in the Mirror. His organization provides disadvantaged youth and their families with basic necessities such as food, clothing and learning materials. To date, over 45,000 homeless people have been impacted by the organization’s fundraising and donation efforts.
