Expanding Access to Safe Drinking Water and Parks for Vulnerable Communities

Legislative Luncheon Series

July 13, 2017 | 12:00 - 1:30p

Mayahuel Restaurant, 1200 K Street, Sacramento, CA 95814

The California Equity Leaders Network, in partnership with the Latino, Asian Pacific Islander, Black, Jewish, and Legislative caucuses, is pleased to present our fourth annual speaker series for legislative staff. As the number of people of color in California continues to grow alongside new extremes of inequality, it is increasingly clear that the future of our state will be dependent on how well we are able to address the challenges faced by our diverse communities.  In this session, speakers will discuss longstanding disinvestments in safe drinking water and community parks, and how state policy can improve access to these critical services and infrastructure for our highest need areas.  This session will also include a focus on leveraging park investments to expand economic opportunity for individuals facing significant barriers to employment.

Our featured speakers are:

Isabel Solorio, President of Community United in Lanare

Rico Mastrodonato, Senior Government Relations Manager at the Trust for Public Land

And Danielle Lynch, Associate at Environmental and Energy Consultants

LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.
