SB 20 (Menjivar) – Silicosis Training, Outreach, and Prevention (STOP) Act: Enhances worker safety in the stone fabrication industry and strengthen silicosis prevention efforts by increasing worker education, enforcing safety regulations, and tracking the accurate number and location of fabrication shops in the state.
SB 81 (Arreguín) – Healthcare Provider Entities: Information Sharing: Requires healthcare providers to establish procedures for monitoring and receiving visitors and designating nonpublic areas. It also requires healthcare providers to prohibit immigration authorities from accessing a facilities’ nonpublic area without a valid judicial warrant or court order, and proscribes the disclosure of patient medical information, such as current or past immigration status, to immigration authorities.

SB 48 (Gonzalez) – Safe Access To Schools: Restricts local educational agencies (LEAs) and local law enforcement agencies from cooperating with federal immigration enforcement officers on or near school grounds, providing additional protections for students and families to attend school safely.
SB 98 (Pérez) - Sending Alerts to Families in Education (SAFE) Act: Requires K-12 schools and higher education institutions notify students, staff, and other campus community members when immigration officers are present on campus.
AB 421 (Solache) - Immigration Enforcement Protections: Builds upon the CA Values Act, by prohibiting CA law enforcement agencies from collaborating with or providing information to immigration authorities within a one mile radius of any childcare or daycare facility, religious institution, place of worship, hospital, or medical office.

AB 1049 (C. Rodriguez) - Removing Barriers to California Food Assistance Program: Eliminates sponsor-deeming requirements from the CA Food Assistance Program (CFAP). This will ensure that eligibility is based solely on an applicant’s actual financial situation and improve access to food assistance for low-income immigrant Californians.
AB 1303 (Valencia) - Protecting California Lifeline Subscribers: AB 1303 specifies that a social security number (SSN) is not needed to apply for the CA LifeLine Program and it protects the privacy of subscribers from immigration authorities.
Standing with our Workers
SB 294 (Reyes) - The Workplace Know Your Rights Act: SB 294 educates workers on their labor and civil rights under state and federal law. The bill creates a template for employers to inform their employees about their rights to ensure equal and just treatment under the law. It also protects families by requiring notice to a worker’s emergency contact should they be arrested or detained by immigration authorities.
SB 635 (Durazo) - Street Vendor Business Protection Act: Advances micro-entrepreneurs’ economic security and stability by limiting sensitive data that can be collected. It prohibits local sidewalk vending permitting procedures from requiring fingerprints or inquiring into immigration/citizenship status or criminal history; and proscribes local sidewalk vending enforcement officers from using their resources to share micro-businesses vulnerable information voluntarily.

SB 388 (Padilla) - California Latino Commission: Establishes the California Latino Commission to serve as a powerful tool for policy change, research, and advocacy that improves the economic well-being and social mobility of Latinos across the state.
AB 868 (Carrillo) - Strengthening Voter Representation in County Elections: AB 868 enhances California’s election process by ensuring that county non-partisan elections appear on the general election ballot. This change will allow more voters to engage in key local elections.
AB 1261 (Bonta) - Legal Representation for Minors: Establishes the right to legal representation for unaccompanied children in immigration court proceedings. The lack of legal representation often precludes these unaccompanied minors from asserting their right to asylum or other protections.
