History of the Latino Caucus details the influential role Latino Legislators played in California. What started in the 1960s as a Caucus of 2 Latinos has grown to a Caucus with 24 Members. The Latino Caucus Members have collectively fought to protect working families, farmworker rights and the issues important to all Californians.

On Monday, May 2, 2022 the Califonria Latino Legislative Caucus hosted the 20th Annual Latino Spirit Awards in Sacramento and recognized the 9 honorees for their personal and professional accomplishments.  The Latino Spirit Awards were established in 2002 by the Latino Caucus to highlight positive role models within our diverse Latino community. Every year, the Caucus honors Latinos/as in a variety of categories that range from athletics/sports, to public service and human rights.  Many of our honorees are pioneers in their respective fields and have overcome tremendous obstacles, rising to

On Monday, May 3, 2021 the California Latino Legislative Caucus hosted their annual Latino Spirit Awards where they recognized 10 Honorees for their persona; and professional accomplishments, as well as their strong commitment to our diverse Latino community.  The honorees are: 

Dr. Jeffrey Garcia (Achievement in Health and Science) He is a Doctor of Optometry practicing in Lemoore and volunteers his time and services to provide care to those in the U.S. and abroad.
