Rosales Sisters’ Scholarship
Biography

Rosales Sisters’ Scholarship began in 2019, created by the six daughters of Abel and Maria Rosales—immigrants from Zacatecas, Mexico, who valued hard work, family, and tradition. The sisters’ journey through higher education was shaped by determination and the unwavering encouragement of parents, teachers, and high school counselors who believed in their dreams. Their story is proof that education, when coupled with community, can transform lives and open new worlds. Since its founding, RSS has awarded over $160,000 in unrestricted college scholarships. Beyond financial help, RSS leads financial literacy workshops for high school students in Hayward, California, and has piloted programs in success coaching for first-year college students, paid internships, and pathways for students interested in the trades. These efforts ensure students are not only prepared for college but also for life beyond the classroom
