CA Latino Caucus Statement on Trump’s Constitutionally Dubious Border Wall Emergency Declaration

SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, the Chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego), issued the following statement on behalf of the Caucus on President Trump’s using an emergency declaration in an attempt to build a border wall:

“The California Latino Legislative Caucus vehemently denounces President Trump’s ridiculous emergency declaration,” said Chair Lorena Gonzalez. “This is a desperate and constitutionally dubious act by a President who cannot accept that Congress will not go along with his charade. The only crisis at the border is the one Trump himself has created. We join our Governor and Attorney General in saying ‘we’ll see you in court.’”
