California Latino Caucus to Host Annual Latino Spirit Awards

May 01, 2021

WHEN:  Monday, May 3rd, 2021

  • 1pm - Assembly Presentations
  • 2pm - Senate Presentations

The Latino Spirit Awards were established in 2002 at the State Capitol in Sacramento to highlight positive role models within our diverse Latino community.

Every year, the Caucus honors Latinos in a variety of categories that range from athletics to public service and human rights.  Many of the honorees are pioneers in their respective fields and have overcome tremendous obstacles, rising to become role models and community leaders.

The honorees will be acknowledged on each floor of the legislature after the presentation and vote of SR 23 (Durazo) and HR 36 (R. Rivas), resolutions to declare May 2, 2021 - May 8, 2021 as Cinco de Mayo Week in California.
