SACRAMENTO – Today, members of the California Latino Legislative Caucus honored distinguished Latinos making an impact in their communities and respective fields at the 13^th Annual Latino Spirit Awards which coincided with the state’s celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

SACRAMENTO – Today, Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Huntington Park/Long Beach) and Assemblymember Luis Alejo (D-Salinas) chair and vice chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, applauded the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for launching English and Spanish websites with new resources for undocumented drivers seeking licenses as a result of AB 60.

“Earlier this month, the members of the Latino Caucus had the honor of joining Cesar Chavez’ family and friends in screening the new movie about his struggle to advance the cause of fairness and justice for farmworkers in California and around the country.” 

SACRAMENTO – Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Huntington Park/Long Beach), Chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, along with chairs of the state’s major Legislative Caucuses called on President Barack Obama to change his Administration’s deportation policies and take executive action to end unnecessary separation of families.
